How to Play: Quantum Chess
Standard Moves: Select a piece and click a green highlighted square to move normally.
Quantum Split: Toggle "Quantum Split" to ON, select your piece, then select TWO valid destination squares. Your piece will exist in a superposition (50/50 chance) in both locations simultaneously.
Measurement (Collapse): If a piece attempts to capture a quantum ghost, or a quantum ghost attempts to capture an enemy, the universe forces an observation!
The box opens: The piece either solidifies into reality, destroying its clone, or it vanishes as an illusion, making its clone the real piece.
Time Travel & Tachyon Limits: Select a piece on the board, then click any of the last 5 highlighted moves in the Timeline Log to preview that past state. Drop your piece onto the past board to permanently rewrite history. However, the universe is fragile! Each individual piece only has 3 Tachyon Charges (β‘). Every time travel leap by that piece consumes a charge. Once depleted, the piece is locked to the present!
Branched Timelines (Mode): In this specific mode, Time Traveling does not discard the future. It spawns a parallel branch! You can use the left timeline panel to track all active realities and jump between their histories.
Castling: Move your King two squares toward a Rook to castle. This moves both the King and the Rook. Only possible if neither has moved or split, and the path is clear and safe.
Quantum Check!
An unresolved superposition threatens your King. Do you want to force a measurement on the attacker, collapsing the timeline?
